Goodrich A-56-B coating is widely used as a static-conductive coating on aircraft deicers and is also recommended for other applications requiring a static-conductive coating. A-56-B has excellent adhesion to neoprene rubber and moderate adhesion to natural rubber, aluminium and epoxy surfaces. When dry A-56-B has excellent resistance to oil. water, alkali solutions and fuels such as JP-4 and gasoline. The coatings successfully withstands temperatures of 250F for up to 5 days and temperatures of 300F for shorter periods of time.
Black in colour, A-56-B is a solvent type coating with a consistency slightly more viscous than water. The dried film is rubbery in texture and provides abrasion and impact resistance.
