Cage type. Allows aircraft instruments to be mounted from the front of the instrument panel. No design costs are required for the panel or instrument. Non-magnetic (brass speed nut; phosphor bronze cage). Meets MIL-N-3336. The cage compresses easily with finger pressure to allow the tabs to be inserted into the through-holes. Once fully inserted and the pressure released, the tabs disengage; the speed nut remains in position to receive the screw. The beveled corners perfectly withstand the insertion force and tightening torque of the screw. All instrument mounting nuts listed below accept a 6-32 machine screw.
Additional information: The threads are identical for each nut, but the instrument bezel thickness may vary depending on the gauge. They are categorized by rear bezel thickness. They insert from the rear and have outward pointing ears that slide into a groove between the front and rear windows to stay in place.
