Carbon monoxide (CO) is a toxic, odorless, and tasteless gas produced by the incomplete combustion of gasoline, kerosene, natural gas, butane, propane, fuel oil, wood, coal, and other fossil fuels. Dangerous levels of CO can be produced by internal combustion engines or any poorly ventilated or improperly adjusted combustion appliance. Exposure to CO can cause nausea, headaches, and even death.

This carbon monoxide detector can save a pilot's life, especially when flying with the heater on, by warning them of the presence of CO in the cockpit: the dot turns gray/black when CO is present. The detector dot returns to its normal color after exposure to fresh air.
You can use this CO detector as a personal, portable device. With its adhesive backing, stick it to the dashboard or instrument panel for a semi-permanent installation, or wear it on an ID badge or lanyard. Unopened CO detectors have a 3-year shelf life, indicated by the expiration date on the packaging. Once removed from its packaging, the CO detector has a 12-month shelf life.
Possible uses:
Aircraft
Cars
Tanker trucks
Lawn mowers
Tow trucks
RVs
And more!
CAUTION: The detector can be damaged by the presence of halogens (iodine, chlorine, bromine), ammonia, and nitrous gases. Do not use near diesel engines. Direct sunlight tends to discolor the indicator area and shorten its life.
